Alfa AWUS052NHS- 150 Mbps dual band Wi-Fi USB adapter new for 2015

Alfa AWUS052NHS is a dual band (2.4 & 5 GHz) Wi-Fi USB adapter from Alfa Network, Inc, a leader in Wi-Fi technology.  It is brand new in retail box and includes the adapter, a detachable 5 dBi gain antenna, driver CD, and a USB cable. We buy direct from Alfa and are an Authorized Distributor  of Alfa products. Check directly with Alfa to verify you are getting a 100% genuine Alfa adapter.

Detachable RP-SMA antenna port allows for antenna upgrade

Use this device to bring dual band capability to your desktop or laptop PC. No built-in Wi-Fi card is required, this is a standalone Wi-Fi receiver. It connects to your computer with included USB cable, and the antenna is detachable so you can use it with any of our RP-SMA antenna upgrades we sell, or it can be used with outdoor antennas with the correct converter cable.

The benefits of dual band networking

Almost every ISP that provides a router will offer a single band (2.4 Ghz router). 2.4 Ghz is the most common type of Wi-Fi band in the US. However due to popular demand, more carriers including Cox Communications are offering customers dual band Wi-Fi routers that operate on both the 2.4 and the 5 GHz frequency. These dual band routers are also sold online and in retail stores. These routers broadcast two separate Wi-Fi networks at the same time, one on each band. If your computer only supports 2.4 GHz, which is most likely, you cannot connect on the 5 GHz band which is a faster spectrum with much less interference. A dual band upgrade like AWUS052NH from Alfa means you can install the software and plug it into your USB port and begin taking advantage of the 5 GHz perfomance. A dual band router is required to see benefits from this product. It is also compatible with 2.4 GHz networks but will work like a standard Wi-Fi receiver with 2.4 GHz signals.

It will work with any computer that has an available USB port and Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8/8.1. This works on Microsoft Surface Pro tablets running Windows 8 (requires driver download) but does NOT work with Windows Surface RT tablets or other tablets/laptops running Microsoft Surface RT, which looks like Windows 8 but is actually a locked down version of Windows that does not support 3rd party drivers.

Additional Features:

- Enterprise-class 64/128 WEP encryption, WPA, WPA-PSK, WPA2, 802.1X support
- 2 transmit/2 receive antenna design for max 300 mbps transfer rate
- 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz standard
- USB 2.0 and 1.1 compliant (forward compatible with USB 3)
- ONE YEAR warranty

AWUS036AC

Overview

Alfa AWUS036AC- Dual Antenna 867 Mbps 802.11ac Wi-Fi Adapter New for 2014

Alfa AWUS036AC brings long range 802.11ac technology to PCs at an affordable cost. It is a new long range dual antenna 867 Mbps Wi-Fi USB adapter compatible with Windows XP through Windows 8. It features two RP-SMA antenna ports, and two 5 dBi dual-band antennas. The antennas are detachable and can be upgraded.

AWUS036AC is capable of receiving and transmitting on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 Ghz bands. With 802.11ac standard routers, AWUS036AC can acheive throughput speeds up to 867 Mbps, almost three times that of the 802.11n maximum of 300 Mbps. This adapter is backward compatible with 802.11b and 802.11g networks, but will have limited speed with those networks. An 802.11ac router is required for the maximum throughput.

The dual antennas and high receive sensitivity also allow it to pick up Wi-Fi signals from up to 2 times the distance of newer internal 802.11ac Wi-Fi cards shipping inside today's laptops. This is brand new in retail box and includes the adapter, two 5 dBi dual-band antennas, driver CD, and USB docking base. We buy direct from Alfa and are an authorized retailer of Alfa products. Check directly with Alfa to verify you are getting a 100% genuine Alfa adapter.

Special USB dock allows for optimal range placement

This adapter can connect directly to a USB port. A USB 3.0 port is required for the maximum 867 Mpbs connection speed. The included dock can be used to put the adapter in better placement for increased range. Using this device with our without the dock on older computers that do not have USB 3 ports will limit speed to 480 Mbps.

It will work with any computer that has an available USB port and Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8/8.1.

- 867 mbps High-Speed Transfer Rate for 802.11ac
- USB 3.0 compliant (backward compatible with USB 2)
- ONE YEAR manufacturer's warranty
